Edwardian Lace Pin

This is a very pretty late Victorian or early Edwardian lace pin, dating from roughly the 1890’s or 1900’s.
Traditionally these were used to attach a decorative lace collar to a dress, or loose around a person’s neck as a shawl.
Lace pins were used by people across all social statuses.

It is made from rolled gold and set with seed pearls and a large purple paste stone (to simulate amethyst).

This brooch measures 3.4cm in width by 2.3cm high.
