WW1 Gordon Highlanders Sweetheart Brooch

A fantastic example of a Great War period Gordon Highlanders Sweetheart Brooch, made from sterling silver.

The brooch is a traditional bar brooch featuring a central copy of the regimental crest: the ‘Marquis of Huntly,’ a stag’s head issuing from a Ducal Coronet within a heavy ivy wreath, with the motto ‘Bydand’ below.

The brooch is in great condition, no wear or damage to the enamel.   It is marked to the underside of the bar with ‘SILVER’.

The brooch measures 5.1cm long, with regimental crest being 2cm in diameter.
