Just in time for Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday; today’s #FeaturedFriday piece is a brooch made to commemorate the 1947 Royal Tour of South Africa.
The tour was taken by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (later known as the Queen Mother) along with their two daughters Princess Elizabeth (now Queen Elizabeth II) and Princess Margaret. This was significant as it was the first international state visit since the outbreak of WW2 in 1939.
This brooch has now sold, but pop along to a market to see what other Royal Memorabilia jewellery we have in stock.
