Event Type: Country Show

We are delighted to be returning to the historic Widecombe Fair on Dartmoor.

Dating back to at least 1850, and made famous by the eponymous folk song Widecombe Fair is a chance to soak up the rural tranquility and a way of life that has gone on for centuries in the valleys of Dartmoor.
With sheep shearing competitions, cattle, sheep and pony classes, vintage cars and agricultural machinery; and live folk music in the beer tent from 10.00am through to midnight.

There is good local food to be tried, main ring entertainment to be enjoyed and loads of interesting stalls to explore. To see you into the evening there is bale throwing and tug of war with on going entertainment in the beer tent, there is something for everyone.

We are very happy to be able to return to the Flintham Ploughing Match & Show for their 102nd event this September.

The Flintham Show is a full day of country entertainment for everyone.

From horse ploughing and hedging to craft tents and competitions for the children you won’t be short of something to see or do!

You can visit the livestock area, plus the educational tent which also displays the bygones from farming through the years.

The star feature of the show will be ploughing by both horses and vintage tractors; alongside demonstrations of modern equipment.

We are pleased to be able to announce our return to the annual Southwell Ploughing Match & Show. Hosted this year at Oxton, Nottinghamshire.

The Southwell Ploughing Match is the largest agricultural one day show in Nottinghamshire, established in 1855 and run by a committee comprising of local business people and rural enthusiasts. The annual show is held at a different venue every year.

The show represents all the really important interests of agriculture from horse ploughing through the vintage years to the modern day tractor, a variety of livestock, static displays and trade stands to suit all tastes. In more recent years horse classes, dog show and the farmers market have been introduced.
