These are a stunning pair of antique sterling silver cufflinks by the Kelantan silversmiths Mohd Salleh & Sons Silver Crafts.
The cufflinks are formed of a front panel depicting a pair of crossed Kris daggers. The rear is a single Kris dagger in cut out.
Mohd Salleh & Sons have been making silver crafts, including jewellery, for over 100 years based from the same location in Kelantan, Malaysia.
These cufflinks are marked to the rear with their traditional mark – ‘1260 B’ and ‘كلنتن’.
The script mark is in Jawi, an Arabic script used in Malaysia, and translates to the word is Kelantan. Kelantan is a state in northern Malaysia which has a strong tradition of silverwork.
