This is a tiny little sweetheart brooch for the Royal Navy ship HMS Royal Sovereign.
The HMS Royal Sovereign served in both WWI & WW2 with the Royal Navy, across all theatres of war.
In WW2 she served as a North Atlantic convoy escort, fought in the Mediterranean & Indian Oceans and worked as a convoy escort around East Africa.
In May 1944 she transferred to the Soviet Navy on loan and served out the remainder of the war as Arkhangelsk escorting Arctic convoys.
This brooch dates to the WW2 period of service.
It measures just 1.5cm wide by 1.4cm tall.
As can be seen in the photo there is some wear to the blue enamel on the ship ribbon.
