Victorian Amethyst Lace Pin

This is a pretty little victorian lace pin, dating from roughly the 1850’s or 1860’s.  Traditionally these were used to attach a decorative lace collar to a dress, or loose around a person’s neck as a shawl.  Lace pins were used by people across all social statuses, this example is typical of a middle class lady.
It is made from brass and set with faceted amethysts.
This brooch measures 2.3cm in width by 1/8cm high.
