WW1 Army Service Corps Trench Art Brooch
£24.00
This is a First World War Sweetheart Brooch for the Army Service Corps.
It is a fantastic example of a Trench Art Sweetheart Brooch, as it has been made from a regimental uniform button and a safety pin somewhat crudely soldered together.
The Army Service Corps are the largely unsung heroes of the British Army in the First World War. Soldiers can not fight without food, equipment and ammunition. They can not move without horses or vehicles. The Army Service Corps were responsible for providing all of them, doing so mostly from Britain itself. At its peak, the Army Service Corps numbered an incredible 10,547 officers and 315,334 men.
This brooch measures 4.5 cm wide with the button being 2 cm in diameter.
