WW2 Pioneer Corps Button Hole

This is a great example of a WW2 era Pioneer Corps button hole.
It is made from brass and decorated with blue and red enamel to the front.
The Pioneer Corps were established in 1939 as a combatant corps used for light engineering tasks. Pioneer units performed a wide variety of tasks in all theatres of war, including full infantry, mine clearance, guarding bases, laying prefabricated track on beaches, and effecting various logistical operations.
