Glitzy Vintage Jewellery – aka Clara & Kyle Carlos – are really proud of our skills at restoring, repairing and reloving all of the antique, vintage and retro jewellery that passes through our hands. We are delighted to be able to offer our time and experience to help rejuvenate your cherished items of jewellery too.
Whether it is an heirloom brooch needing some missing stones replacing, a much loved ring needing reshaping or a thorough cleaning, or a full string of vintage pearls needing a restring we are sure to be able to help out at a very affordable rate.
Most work will require us to schedule time at our workshop, but we are happy to accept and return items via post, or plan completion for specific events or markets. Some very simple jobs can be completed in person at an event, depending on how busy we are as we always carry a basic tool kit and supplies with us – so if you have an item with you needing a quick spruce up it’s worth an ask!
Pricing
We aim to be very open and clear on our pricing with you before any work starts on your jewellery, and will always stick to our quoted prices. As every item we work on requires a bespoke restoration process, so our pricing will have to be handled on a case by case basis.
Our pricing is based on a simple formula for you to follow. We take our material costs and add a simple hourly rate for the work completed. But we know this sounds a little wooly to help you with budgeting or planning so here are some examples of recent restoration jobs completed.
Replace three missing marcasite stones into a sterling silver ring, with full cleaning – £25
Restring a single strand of vintage glass beads onto silver wire with a full clean and restoration of the vintage clasp – £15
Restring a triple strand of vintage pearls beads onto silver wire with a full clean and restoration of the vintage clasp – £35
Restring a single strand of vintage pearls onto silk thread with knots between each pearl – £50
Full cleaning on a vintage brooch, including source and replace 2 missing stones – £18
