This week for #FeaturedFriday we have a really special item. This is a silver filigree bracelet with scenes of Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame de Paris, and Sacré-Cœur Basilica. This would have been made to sell to the wealthy inter-war tourist market.
Based on the inclusion of Sacré-Cœur we believe the bracelet must have been made somewhere between its consecration in 1919 and the fall of France in 1940. Whilst we do not know the exact date this was made we do know that the previous owners father purchased it as a present for their wife while visiting Paris on leave from fighting in WW2 in early 1945.
This bracelet has now sold, but pop along to a market to see if we have any more WW2 related items in stock.
