Civil Defence Corps Button Hole

£12.00

This is a great example of a Civil Defence Corps button hole badge from the late 1940’s or early 1950’s.
It is made from brass and decorated with blue and red enamel to the front, featuring the ‘King’s Crown’ dates this specific example to the early years of the Civil Defence Corps between 1948 & 1953.

The Civil Defence Corps (CDC) was a civilian volunteer organisation established in Great Britain in 1948 to mobilise and take local control of the affected area in the aftermath of a major national emergency, principally envisaged as being a Cold War nuclear attack.
