Venetian Turquoise & Gold Fleck Sommerso Glass Necklace

This is an incredible example of a 1960’s Venetian Sommerso Glass beaded necklace.  The beads are created using a combination of clear and turquoise/aqua glass; set internally with gold leaf to create a sparkly effect.

The beads alternate between a large disc and a small sphere around the necklace, all of which are capped, and then separated with gold-plated spacer beads. The whole necklace has been restrung onto gold-plated steel wire for added strength and features a vintage barrel clasp.

This necklace is heavy, and measures a full 20″ in length.
