WW2 RAF 102 (Ceylon) Squadron Sweetheart Brooch

£20.00

This is a WW2 Sweetheart Brooch for 102 (Ceylon) Squadron RAF.

The brooch is in well loved condition, with noticeable wear to a some areas of the enamel, but still looks great for it’s age.

The brooch measures 3.1cm tall.

No. 102 Squadron served throughout WW2, flying their first mission overnight from 4th to 5th September 1939 dropping leaflets over Germany.  The adoption of the ‘Ceylon’ name came in February 1942 around the same time the squadron’s Armstrong Whitworth Whitley’s were replaced with the new Handley Page Halifax bombers.
