Delft & Silver Filigree Necklace

Today’s #FeaturedFriday piece is a classic 1940s Delft necklace, featuring a painting of a traditional Dutch windmill.

Ceramic jewellery has always been popular but none is quite as well known as the Dutch made Delftware. It has been made in Delft, Holland for at least the last 400 years with jewellery pieces mounted in local silver. Each piece features a dutch scene, hand painted in blue on white ceramic. This 1940s necklace features a painting of a traditional Dutch windmill and then mounted in a silver filigree setting.

This necklace has now sold, but pop along to a market to see what other Delft pieces we have in stock.
