Vintage ‘Heneage Jewel’ Pewter Brooch

This is a wonderful unsigned vintage pewter brooch, created as a copy of the ‘Heneage Jewel’ or ‘Armada Brooch’, currently held in the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.

Like the original, this brooch features a bust of the Queen Elizabeth I in an incredible outfit with curled hair with pearl ropes, crown, open ruff, pearl necklace, embroidered gown, and swirly bodice, with the Tudor Rose and Fleur de Lis embellishments around her.
Around her is also the text “ELIZABETHA D G ANG FRA ET HIB REGINA”, meaning “Elizabeth by the Grace of God Queen of England, France and Ireland”.

This is a large brooch – measuring 6.8cm tall, by 5cm wide.

While this appears unsigned we believe it to have been made by the firm ‘Miracle’, based on the stylisation and quality of workmanship.
